Julia Reinach - Program Associate/Executive Assistant to the President
Julia began her work with the Douglass Project as a Summer Fellow. She continued working with the organization throughout her last year at Michigan, and now works as a Program Associate. A 2024 graduate of the University of Michigan with a BA in History and Sociology, and a minor in Crime and Justice. She wrote her undergraduate honors thesis, entitled “’Other People’s Children’: Conditions of Confinement at the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility,” and at Michigan, served as the undergraduate research lead for the Carceral State Project with specific emphasis on prison uprisings and prison resistance. She also worked as a research assistant for the University of Michigan’s Policing and Social Justice HistoryLab which tracked incidents of police brutality and wrongful convictions. In addition to her role as Program Associate, Julia currently works as the Executive Assistant to Marc Howard, and as a General Project Coordinator at the Georgetown University Prisons and Justice Initiative.
